Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society

PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. PAWS is Philadelphia's largest no-kill shelter and is working to make Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. Through its adoption locations, special events, and foster care network, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals each year.In March 2010, PAWS opened a low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic serving pet owners and rescues in an effort to keep pets healthy and reduce the homeless pet population. Located in the Grays Ferry section of the city, the Clinic serves pet owners who have difficulty affording or do not have access to basic veterinary care (sterilization, vaccinations, treatments for upper respiratory infections/parasites/fleas, etc.) and rescue organizations that need affordable spay/neuter surgery and basic veterinary care to carry out their lifesaving work. Support for PAWS funds lifesaving initiatives including adoption and foster care programs, spay/neuter surgeries, low-cost vaccinations, and other efforts, all of which help reduce and will ultimately eliminate the unnecessary killing of Philadelphia's animals. Donations to PAWS are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Sweet and sassy Daisy is a springtime delight! Daisy is more beautiful than her namesake flower, and incredibly sweet! But once she and her brother Smokey start to play, her sassy, confident side comes out. She holds her own when they wrestle, hunt and play! Daisy is curious and oh, so playful - a bit mischievous when she sneaks up on Smokey who happily plays along. As part of a bonded pair with Smokey, she also loves individual pets and attention!  Age: 2 months How I came to PAWS: Found stray Animal ID#: A179521 Meet me at: PetSmart 1415 Washington Avenue (at Broad Street), Philadelphia ​[email protected] **In order to safely meet with any animals at our PetSmart locations you will need to have a fully processed and approved application submitted first, after which you will then be able to schedule an official adoption appointment to meet and hopefully take home your new kitty! You can submit an application online at https://phillypaws.org/cat-adoption-application/. Due to the limited space inside of the adoption area we are not allowing people to come in and browse any animals without first taking these steps.**
