PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. PAWS is Philadelphia's largest no-kill shelter and is working to make Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. Through its adoption locations, special events, and foster care network, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals each year.In March 2010, PAWS opened a low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic serving pet owners and rescues in an effort to keep pets healthy and reduce the homeless pet population. Located in the Grays Ferry section of the city, the Clinic serves pet owners who have difficulty affording or do not have access to basic veterinary care (sterilization, vaccinations, treatments for upper respiratory infections/parasites/fleas, etc.) and rescue organizations that need affordable spay/neuter surgery and basic veterinary care to carry out their lifesaving work. Support for PAWS funds lifesaving initiatives including adoption and foster care programs, spay/neuter surgeries, low-cost vaccinations, and other efforts, all of which help reduce and will ultimately eliminate the unnecessary killing of Philadelphia's animals. Donations to PAWS are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Meet Gizmo and Cosmo – A Sweet Senior Pair Looking for a Peaceful Home. Gizmo (brown and white tabby) and Cosmo (brown tabby) are two charming gentleman cats who are approaching their senior years but still have plenty of love—and playful moments—to share. These bonded boys are gentle, affectionate, and love to be picked up for cuddles. Though they’re currently a bit nervous in the shelter environment, it’s clear they’re just waiting for the right quiet home where they can truly relax and blossom. Gizmo and Cosmo have experience living with other cats, small dogs, and even small children. They’re a well-mannered pair who enjoy the company of both humans and furry friends, making them a great match for many types of homes. A few things to know: Gizmo has a heart murmur that may require some veterinary monitoring in the future. Cosmo may need a bit of dental work down the line. If you're looking for a sweet, snuggly pair who will warm your heart (and your lap), come meet Gizmo and Cosmo. They're ready to start their next chapter in a loving home.
