Every good Skipper needs his Gilligan, and ours is the perfect captain to sail you away from that island of boredom you've been marooned on! After being found stray in early April, Skipper was originally brought to the city shelter for TNR but ended up staying due to some additional medical needs. It was during his prep for some dental work (he has stomatitis and needed surgery to remove his teeth) that we also discovered he is FeLV+, so he will need to be the only kitty castaway in your village. Now that he is feeling better, Skipper has shown he loves attention and gets a little chatty when you make eye contact and haven't offered any fingers for head rubs yet. Skipper had already been previously neutered when we took him in, but didn't have a microchip, so we suspect he has some experience living with a family indoors since he doesn't have the expected clipped ear if he was previously TNR'd. **Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is a virus that is specific to cats that attacks and weakens a cat’s immune system. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy, healthy lives—with a shorter life expectancy than cats without FeLV. In the past, cats with FeLV in shelters were euthanized as soon as they were diagnosed. PAWS takes a different stance: we enable FeLV+ cats to live out their lives in loving homes. For more information feel free to check out the FeLV FAQs we have available on our website!** Age: ~10 years old How I came to PAWS: Found Stray Animal ID#: A56132 Meet me at: PAWS Adoption Center 100 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 215-238-9901 ext.30 **Our Old City Adoption Center prioritizes appointments made by already approved applicants, but we can accommodate browsers and walk-ins if and as our capacity allows.
