Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Tucker

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** You would be hard pressed to find any kittens sweeter than the "T kittens" Tucker (biggest of the bunch), Travis (Mr Handsome), Tiffany (tiny girl with a calico tail!), Trent (Ubber lovey), Traci (always ready for fun!) and Tina (the big sis!)!  This little group was born to a mom outside.  They were small and skinny so mom and the whole crew were trapped and raised by a foster.  They have been with us since they were small and they have struggled through some health challenges including their tiny sister Treena who had a very rare birth defect that required special surgery to save her life.  The crew is all better now and ready for the best part...finding their very own wonderful home!  The kittens were born early June of 2023.  They are very affectionate and seek attention.  They get along great with each other and would make wonderful companions for life if you chose to adopt more than one sibling.  All are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  As always our adoption fees are free will to approved applicants.

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.

Look for other cats for adoption!
