Wags and Whiskers Animal Rescue of MN

Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. We are a small, volunteer run organization. All of our animals listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the animals' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter. This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We provide all needed supplies and cover medical costs of the foster while it awaits a forever home.

Meet Truffle C4386

**** Hi, I’m Truffle. My date of birth is 10/13/23. I know I’m extremely adorable, but please read my entire bio before applying!**** I had a rough start to life. No one really knows how my story began, but it sure made me hesitant to come out of my shell. I had some kind of trauma to my tail, and because of that it has grown from broken spots into a funny thumbs up shape at the end. It doesn’t hurt or anything, just something to be aware of. I am still very much learning how to be confident. I’m still learning that people are okay and safe. I can definitely be pet and cuddled when I’m in my kitty tree or in my cat bed and I will purr to let you know this is a-okay! However, I am skittish and afraid when people are walking around (they’re tall and big compared to me!). For this reason, I need a quieter house where I can really blossom. In my foster home it’s a circus. I have adjusted well to that so far, given my rough start. There are 3 kids (one baby), dogs and other cats here. The dog is huge so it scares me, but I LOVE the other cats. I would NOT do well in a house without other cats. I need a cat to help me continue to grow and be brave. If you need another kitten to adopt along with me, so I can continue my journey on “how to cat” I do have a sleek and handsome black shorthaired housemate named “Niko” that will be listed for adoption soon too! Please consider adopting us both together. (Niko is not yet listed, but his adoption number is C4408) I do great with the kids in the house, especially if they want to feed me ... .because I LOVE FOOD. Wet cat food is just the best. I will literally do anything for it. I also love to play. If you want to drag a string or a bird toy for me, I will come out and join you.  I am fully litter box trained, no issues there. As a bonus, I am gorgeous. I mean have you seen my coloring? I’m brown, that is pretty rare. So if you’re thinking of adding some kitten fun to your house, and you’d be willing to let me come out of my nervous shell at my own pace, then why don’t you apply to adopt me? I’m ready to learn more about humans and want to learn to be brave with your help!

Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an adoption application. After reviewing your application and contacting the vet and personal references, a meeting is scheduled between the potential adopter and the pet, in the foster's home or a neutral animal friendly place. If there are any resident animals within the home, it is required that they meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit by one our representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. 6 month post-adoption check in is completed.

Look for other cats for adoption!
