Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Daffodil

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Daffodil is the name of the beautiful girl.  Daffodil was part of an outdoor colony but she was getting all of her soft fine fur matted up and since she was a very friendly gal it was decided that maybe she wasn't cut out for living outdoors and joined the shelter.  Daffodil was born October of 2022 and is really very sweet and gentle.  She is used to being around other cats but would be fine on her own as well.  She loves to do rolly rollies and wait for a tummy rub!  She will require routine brushing and perhaps a couple of trips a year to a regular groomer for a lion cut if things are kept up on but she is very accommodating with brushing and someone dedicated to staying on top of that should have no issues with her being compliant.  Daffodil is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, FeLV/FIV negative and microchipped.  As always our cat/kitten adoptions are free will to approved applicants.

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.

Look for other cats for adoption!
