Hi, I came in to the rescue with the assumption I was pregnant and was suposed to be TNR after having my babies. Well, turns out I wasnt pregnant after all. The place I was suposed to be returned to became unsafe, due to a dog in thee area. I have been hanging out in my foster moms home in her kitty room since January, 2021. The gate is open and I can venture out if I want, but I dont go to far becasue there are big dogs out there, and I am not a fan of them! I like other cats, especially kittens! I will rub on your leg once I get comfortable, and My foster mom has even snuck in a few pets, when I wasnt expecting it! I've never tried to bite, but I am very skiddish if you attempt to pet me. I am a talker once I am a talker once you have gained my trust, I have lived with Adele who has also been here awhile. She has a combo of the typical TortiTude, and under socialized. We get along like two peas in a pod, and play with each other like kittens at times. She also likes other cats. We could be candidates for a heated shop, or shed, or large horse barn. We are both great mousers, but also need to have daily meals provided. Completion of an Adoption Application via our website (www.RescueCrew.org) is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in the adoption process. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
