Meet Zorro / Scar

Zorro (black and white) and Scar (tortie/calico) are two funny, friendly, 2.5-year-old bonded cats looking for their forever home! Each a little different, they will bring snuggles and laughter to wherever they land. Zorro (who we affectionately refer to as ""Big Boy"") is 18 pounds of self-assurance and love. A cat that can be both independent and a snuggle-bug (depending on his mood), Zorro spends most of his time taking luxuriously long naps on chairs, beds, the tops of cat trees and in sunbeams. While he probably won't snuggle with you on the couch, he'll find his way to the foot of the bed while you sleep and might lay right next to you with his feet touching you if you play video games. This boy loves a good belly rub, but not as much as he loves his dry food! Scar (""Little Girl,"" at least compared to Zorro!) is the cutest kitty around. Not only is she beautiful, but she's very sweet and affectionate; this girl wants to talk to you, walk all over your keyboard, sit in your lap while you're working, or lay on your legs while you watch TV. Watch your feet - Scar will follow you around and might trip you (with love)! She is happy to spend her mornings at the top of the cat tree, and her nights roaming the house crying with joy about her favorite green ball (which she carries around with her everywhere). This little lady ALSO loves tummy rubs - in fact, she's the only cat we've ever met who wants you brush her belly. The only thing she might love more than you is wet food. Both cats are low-to-medium energy - while we've certainly seen some zoomies and both cats will play hard once in a while, they spend an enormous amount of time napping or trying to hang out near their people. We don't notice them playing together all that often or playing much with our resident cat, but sometimes we hear what sounds like a horse running around the house at top speed (usually the very large Zorro) when the zoomies hit. Scar has a history of urinary issues, but those issues cleared up immediately upon entering our home. Her left eye also waters - the vet is not concerned, but we've noted that it comes and goes. Both Zorro and Scar are slightly overweight (2-3 lbs. each), so a good weight-loss diet would be best, to help them live their happiest and healthiest lives. This sweet pair currently lives with two adults and our resident cat in a house. We think their ideal home will be either adults-only or one with gentle older children, and where they are the only pets. Although we haven't seen them interact with dogs, we don't think that would be the right fit for them. (There’s a slight possibility they could adjust to a similarly low-key cat, but introductions would have to be very gradual.) We could see Zorro doing well with younger children, but Scar is a little easily spooked, and we think her litter box issues could come back in a higher-stress home. However, both cats are gentle and sweet. Their new home needs to be ready to help them lose some weight, including monitoring their food intake and getting them exercise. They also love cat trees, cat nip and cat grass! Although Scar and Zorro are both very friendly, they take some time to warm up to new people and other cats. Scar is the more easily spooked of the two, and Zorro is very attentive to whether Scar feels comfortable. Both cats spent the first day crawling all over us to investigate their new situation, but Scar especially needed a lot of time to come out from under the bed after that. When we have people over, both cats are curious but tend to retreat to a safe spot. Ultimately, we adore these two kitties, and while we can't keep them ourselves, we know they will bring endless joy to their next family! Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat? Please fill out Pet Haven’s adoption application: http://bit.ly/2fd9U2Fpethavenmnwww..org/adopt. All ages and breeds are a best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow-up visits.
