Meet Elliandra

Hello there!   Are you on the lookout for a pet for your special feline in your life? Not afraid of a little "project"? Do you have endless amounts of patience and are willing for them to come around in their own time? Do I have the purrrrect opportunity for you!   My name is Elliandra and I'm looking for a special cat loving home. I absolutely need to go into a home with another cat. Preferably one who is confident and can show me the ropes. I think other cats are pretty darn spectacular and would love to spend my life getting to know a new friend. As for humans, they still freak me out a little bit. I will most certainly hide the first few weeks which may improve if I have a nice, confident cat companion to model off of. I'm not aggressive at all but I will hide. I do currently allow some petting by my humans so I think eventually with a good role model I can turn into that snuggly cat you can adore for life. I was originally part of an outdoor cat colony but I was too friendly to go back to living life on the outs. I much prefer the comfort of being inside.   Are you up for a challenge to win my heart over?    Elliandra is from a reservation. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you'd like to donate towards this pet's care, you can donate to our Animal Care Fund.   Our Animal Care Fund supports the medical and veterinary needs for all Ruff Start Rescue animals. You'll be able to enter this pet's name on the second page of the donation form. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

Look for other cats for adoption!
