Tyson's Place Animal Rescue

We began taking in animals in 2015. Our rescue's mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets. We interpret this mission to mean we help people going into nursing homes, assisted living, hospice, managing illness, and after the owner has passed away. We want to provide people and pets with peace of mind. We want owners to know their animals are well cared for and to keep senior animals out of shelters.

Meet Lucy

Lucy is a sweet 8-year-old grey kitty, who came into our rescue with Lola, a 10-year-old cat. These girls came into our rescue after their owner passed away, and they were left alone in the house. Our rescue's mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets, including after the owner has passed away. The original owner's family describe Lucy as friendly with family, friendly with visitors, and affectionate. Lucy was a bit more cautious with strangers but warms up well with a little time. She also loves people and pets and really blossoms with someone who gives her attention and love. Her foster mom said Lucy has become really affectionate and loves to cuddle once she warms up. She is front-declawed and has excellent litter box habits. She is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, had full blood work, and she just had a dental cleaning with four extractions. We spent hundreds of dollars on vet care so you get a completely healthy cat that will just need annual wellness exams, like any cat.  Like many sisters, Lucy and Lola enjoy their personal space apart from each other but they can also be adopted together. The adoption fee is two for the price of one. If you are interested in her, applications are available here: https://tysonsplacerescue.org/cat-and-dog-adoptions/#adopt or you can email [email protected] for questions or more information.

Adoption Process
We have an adoption application, which is reviewed by a committee, we then do a visit with the animal, and if everything goes well, an adoption contact is signed. Depending on the medical needs of the animals, the adoption fee ranges from waived to $175.
