Fancy Cats Rescue Team

Fancy Cats Rescue Team was founded to provide the community a "safety net" for cats and kittens that are abused and abandoned, or added to the euthanasia list at the shelters that we are currently participating with. We are a 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit Organization and participate with the United Way/CFC #8929. The goal is to have no kill shelters in place. Education and responsible pet ownership are the foundation of our organization. Our program provides literature, counseling, referral services and educational resources to families and individuals needing guidance. Teaching people responsible pet guardianship by spay and neutering their pets, behavioral modification and health concerns. We also provide a mentoring environment for our youth volunteers where they can learn the rewards of community service while caring for animals that need their gentle, loving kindness. They also interact with the community providing self-confidence and the ability to interact with a variety of cultures and diverse backgrounds. Once an animal is received into our program, they remain with us until a safe, appropriate home is found. They are never euthanized based on their age or space limitations. They are given appropriate medical care, immunizations, spays or neuters and endless hours of tender, loving care. We are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. We are funded by community donations, 91% goes toward the care and well being of our animals. Our adoption fees help offset our veterinary bills.

Meet Rosebud (& Daisy) bonded

I’m Rosebud, a beautiful orange cat who is laid-back and loves to curl up in your lap or somewhere soft. My sister, Daisy (a beautiful tortie point), and I love attention. We seek our second furr-ever home (we recently lost our human mom – the only one we ever have known – to cancer). We will greet you when you return home and gratefully accept petting and treats! I enjoy gentle scratching behind my ears (and chin and head….). My first day in foster care I played with a fake mouse on a wand and caught it superbly so my play skills are intact! Daisy and I both have white fur under our chin and white “mitten” paws, and I have my own distinctive black freckle on my lip!.  Sis and I may be a bit shy at first. As I said, we just lost our human mom to cancer (we lost our dear human dad before that). We loved sleeping on our human mom’s bed and lived with a male cat and an older bonded female pair of cats. We now revel in the attention our foster parent gives us and have let her pick us up, hold us, and pet us (she says we are record-setters because foster cats normally take days or weeks to do that!). Daisy and I grew up in a home with a human mom and dad and other cats, was very well cared for and loved by them and their family, and got dragged to the vet for regular visits (most recently in late February so don’t even think about having the vet give us shots until 2025!). Our human mom’s daughter loves us dearly, lovingly cared for all of us after our human mom died, and carefully arranged for Daisy and I to go directly to an appropriate foster home and not be in a cage; she wishes she could keep us; since she has children and cats and not a huge home, it is best for us to share our love and lives with a new family so we have plenty of living space and attention! Our foster parent has fallen in love with us after less than 24 hours (another record!!!) but cannot adopt us (she too has reached the limit of cats in her family and lives in a small place)! So, we are available to share our gentleness, love, and companionship with other humans. My sister and I cannot wait to meet potential adopters – as much as we love hearing our foster parent tell us we are champions and record-setters, we would like to move along to the next phase of our life journey so we live the next decade or more with our new human or humans. Please fill out an application and get approved; then you can meet us at our foster home and get to know us in a home setting. Our human mom that we lost spoke fluent French, so bonus if you speak French (but not necessary)!!! Merci!

Adoption Process
Our adopters fill out an application that screens for problems that may be detrimental to our cats and kittens. Once the adopter is approved we provide veterinary referrals which help with low cost spays or neuters for the kittens that are too young at the time of adoption. We are always available to help with behavioral issues that arise. We provide numerous information sheets in our adoption folders, plus the medical background of each cat. The only fees involved with our program are adoption fees that offset our veterinary bills.

Look for other cats for adoption!
