Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society

PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. PAWS is Philadelphia's largest no-kill shelter and is working to make Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. Through its adoption locations, special events, and foster care network, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals each year.In March 2010, PAWS opened a low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic serving pet owners and rescues in an effort to keep pets healthy and reduce the homeless pet population. Located in the Grays Ferry section of the city, the Clinic serves pet owners who have difficulty affording or do not have access to basic veterinary care (sterilization, vaccinations, treatments for upper respiratory infections/parasites/fleas, etc.) and rescue organizations that need affordable spay/neuter surgery and basic veterinary care to carry out their lifesaving work. Support for PAWS funds lifesaving initiatives including adoption and foster care programs, spay/neuter surgeries, low-cost vaccinations, and other efforts, all of which help reduce and will ultimately eliminate the unnecessary killing of Philadelphia's animals. Donations to PAWS are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Meet Mike Wazowski and Little Boo *bonded pair*

Mike Wazowski and Little Boo are looking for a loving furever home together! After living the first few years of their lives on the streets in South Philadelphia, Mike Wazowski and his sister, Little Boo, have found that indoor life suits them quite well. Security, comfort, and love - what could be better? What Mike Wazowski lacks in depth perception, he makes up for in personality. This smart and goofy boy loves to play and will sit next to his favorite toys to ask you to play with him! Mike is the king of belly rubs and will flop over to ask you for those, too! He also loves treats, and when you hold them out in front of him, he'll reach out with his paw to bring them to his face. Little Boo lights up when she and her brother can go on an adventure together. Chasing a bug or watching birds from the window, yes please! When Mike starts to walk around the room, Boo immediately does a little chirp and trots over to his side! Little Boo is a very docile girl, but she loves toys (especially her toy mice!) and she can even stand on her hind legs when it's time for treats! Mike and Boo will thrive in a quiet home where they can be the only pets. It may take some time for them to feel comfortable in their new home, but once they do, their unique personalities will make you smile every day! Age: 5 years How I came to PAWS: Found stray Animal ID#: A55508 and A55509 We are not at the shelter. Please email our foster parent at [email protected] to learn more about us!
