Cenla Cat Project

My husband, myself, and a friend have seen a need for a cat rescue in our area. My husband and I are both retired (he was a dba and I was a guidance counselor). We are just starting out. We plan to start with adoptions. All cats must be fully vetted (spay/neuter is essential) before they can be adopted. Education about spay/neuter and cat care are a big part of our agenda. We have our 501 (c)(3). Our adoption program is foster based. We hope to have a shelter/adoption center in the next 2 years. We have been working with another local rescue for 3 years whose emphasis is dogs. We see a real need for a cat rescue in the area and are trying to make an impact on cat over-population.

Meet Onyx

Onyx thinks he’s special because he’s a fluffy bobtail. We think he’s special because he is adorable. This confident guy has a big purrsonality. He’s adventurous, affectionate, and playful. He’ll soon be the favorite family member. He is indoor only, dog, child, and cat friendly. Onyx is vetted, chipped, and tested. Declawing (toe amputation) is prohibited by contract.  

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must complete an application and sign a contract. They must agree to provide care for the cat, not to declaw it, and return it to us if unable to care for it. In general, the adoption fee will be $100, it may be less for older cats.
