It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.

Meet Scar – The Handsome Orange & White Gentleman Scar is a male orange and white tabby who was found as a stray in Daviess County. Now safe and thriving in our free-roaming cat room, Scar has settled into rescue life—but what he’s really waiting for is a home of his own.He’s a charming fellow with soft fur, curious eyes, and a calm spirit. Scar gets along well with other cats and enjoys lounging in sunny spots or watching the room from a cozy perch. He may not have had the easiest start, but he’s ready for a future filled with love, comfort, and companionship.If you're looking for a laid-back, sweet cat who will be your steady sidekick, Scar could be the perfect match.
