Last Hope Animal Rescue

Last Hope Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Formed in March of 2004, we are an all volunteer animal rescue group comprised of foster homes in the greater Cedar Rapids area. Many of our animals come from local kill shelters, as their time has run out due to any number of reasons including lack of space, not deemed adoptable, special needs, etc. Our purpose is to save as many homeless, abused, abandoned, hard to place, neglected animals that we can and to place as many animals as possible into loving, forever homes where they will be cherished.

Meet Paprika & Cayenne

Meet Paprika and Cayenne! Don't let their RGF (Resting Grumpy Faces) fool you - they are as sweet as they come! These girls love treats, toys, and exploring their surroundings. You can often find them lounging around next to their people because they love all the attention they can get. They have not yet been tested with dogs but would do okay with another feline friend. They even like children and will follow them all around, looking for a lap to jump into! Paprika is a bit shy at first, but once she is comfortable she is the perfect lap kitty! She likes to be held and take naps on the couch next to her humans or play with the toys. She is a quiet girl until she finds a toy ball and then she is very vocal and lets everyone know that she has a prize!  Cayenne is the more curious one when it comes to exploring. She also enjoys rubbing against her human's legs and having her back scratched. If her sister is sleeping somewhere, you can often find Cayenne scoochin in for a snuggle.  Cayenne and Paprika's adoption fee is $150 and includes their spay, microchip, current vaccines and FeLV/FIV testing.  They are seeking a home as an indoor pet only, if you would like to meet them please submit an adoption application through our website Adopthope.org. Last Hope requires that adopters who have owned pets have a history of having kept them altered, kept current on vaccines/annual vet care and as indoor pets only. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit

Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies. Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue. The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.
