Last Hope Animal Rescue

Last Hope Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Formed in March of 2004, we are an all volunteer animal rescue group comprised of foster homes in the greater Cedar Rapids area. Many of our animals come from local kill shelters, as their time has run out due to any number of reasons including lack of space, not deemed adoptable, special needs, etc. Our purpose is to save as many homeless, abused, abandoned, hard to place, neglected animals that we can and to place as many animals as possible into loving, forever homes where they will be cherished.

Meet Leonardo and Michelangelo

Leo and Mikey are super active young almost adults. They can be very shy and a bit flighty in new situations and with new people, but they are talkative purr monsters and will love on you once they know you. We are still working on lap sitting, but they have bed sharing down solid. They started life outside for their first 8 weeks and after they have slowly adjusted to being confident house kitties. Now these two are living the koosh inside life. Zoomies and toys, ball pits and cat towers, cardboard scratchers and hammocks. Oh and don’t forget the bird watching! All the things active boys love. Plus the endless supply of food and treats. These boys are VERY food motivated and enjoy a good game of tag between themselves. Leo and Mikes are very good boys but they are still working on their confidence. They are a bit more outgoing and would love to have a patient parent in their forever home to help continue to build and purrfect their happiness. Leonardo and Michelangelo are Neutered, Microchipped, Feline Leukemia Negative, Current On Age Appropriate Vaccines. They are currently in a foster home with cats, small dog, and kids (8y&14y). They have excellent litterbox habits and have gentle toes and teeth. For more information about Leo and Mikey, please contact Last Hope Animal Rescue. Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies. Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue. The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.
