Last Hope Animal Rescue

Last Hope Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Formed in March of 2004, we are an all volunteer animal rescue group comprised of foster homes in the greater Cedar Rapids area. Many of our animals come from local kill shelters, as their time has run out due to any number of reasons including lack of space, not deemed adoptable, special needs, etc. Our purpose is to save as many homeless, abused, abandoned, hard to place, neglected animals that we can and to place as many animals as possible into loving, forever homes where they will be cherished.

Meet Star #2

Star #2 is a beautiful female torbie, she has a wonderfully soft brown tabby coat that is peppered with little spots of orange. She may be the second kitty named Star in our system, but make no mistake - this girl is a bright and beautiful star!   Star is a quiet and friendly girl, she enjoys attention but is not overly eager, instead she waits patiently for you to come to her and then gently softens and accepts your pets with soft eyes and a quiet purr.  We think she will make a terrific lap cat! Star #2 has not been introduced to dogs, she has met a few cats but to our knowledge has not lived with any others.  She would likely do okay in home with other adult animals that are on the quieter side like her.    Star #2's adoption fee is $85 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations and a FeLV/FIV test.  Star #2 is seeking an indoor only home, if you would like to meet her please submit an adoption application for consideration! Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, be altered and kept current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.

Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies. Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue. The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.

Look for other cats for adoption!
