Opal is a gorgeous and friendly senior kitty in need of a loving home to give her some comfort and TLC as she ages. She was rescued by a local resident who was trapping stray cats as part of a neighborhood TNR effort, her rescuer realized very quickly that this little lady was extra special and needed some help! Opal has been spayed and vaccinated, at her spay appointment we discovered that she is missing all of her teeth except for two bottom canines. Opal's eyes both appeared to be shrunken and opaque (a sign of glaucoma) and she had areas of irritation from entropion (the lash line was curling in to her eyeball). Opal no longer has vision, and we've worked hard to make sure that she is comfortable and not in pain! We also unfortunately learned that Opal has Feline Leukemia, so while we were able to care for all of her medical needs we do understand that she does have a limiting illness. She is in need of a home where she is the only cat or where she only lives with other Feline Leukemia positive cats - no exceptions to this please. Opal is very friendly and cuddly, and she's ready to live in a home of her own with very special people that understand the rewards of caring for a senior special needs kitty! Opal's adoption fee is $85 and includes her spay, microchip and current vaccinations. She is seeking an indoor only home. Please submit an adoption application for consideration at Adopthope.org. Last Hope requires that adopters have a history of having kept their animals altered, current on vaccines and preventatives and as indoor pets only. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.
Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit.
The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies.
Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue.
The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.
