Last Hope Animal Rescue

Last Hope Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Formed in March of 2004, we are an all volunteer animal rescue group comprised of foster homes in the greater Cedar Rapids area. Many of our animals come from local kill shelters, as their time has run out due to any number of reasons including lack of space, not deemed adoptable, special needs, etc. Our purpose is to save as many homeless, abused, abandoned, hard to place, neglected animals that we can and to place as many animals as possible into loving, forever homes where they will be cherished.

Meet Lily

Introducing... LILY! A beautiful name for a sweet adult female cat! Her coloring is really unique, especially on her head, and check out that cute pyramid shape marking her nose! The charcoal black and gray colors really stand out, and with her peachy/orange colors, her plush fur coat mixed with charcoal colors is so soft- you can't resist running your fingers through her fur! Her stunning green eyes really create a beautiful face to go along with her personality! A message from her rescuer: Lily 'wandered' onto my brothers farm; truth be known... it is more than likely she was just dumped on his farm property which is right on the outside edge of a small town. It is hard to believe this could happen to such a sweet kitty. Lily spent the Fall and Winter seasons living on the farm outside, seeking shelter in drafty buildings. I fell in love with her when I met her, but I have several cats of my own. I wanted for more Lily than to live life as a farm kitty, so I took her under my wing and contacted a friend of mine who fosters for Last Hope. She is a quiet kitty but loves to rev-up her motor and purr, purr, purr ;) She has quite large paws, so she loves to lay on soft blankets so she can 'knead her paws' until her heart is content for the evening, while laying down watching tv with her rescuer. Lily deserves her 'forever home' where she will be loved, cherished, and cared for.  She was living with other cats on the farm and there were never any issues. She is friendly and are hoping she will do well with dogs and kids, but she has not been tested with them yet.  Lily's adoption fee is $85.00. She is currently being fostered in Waterloo and will move to the Petsmart Adoption Center once space opens up, located at 1506 Flammang Dr. in the Crossroads Shopping Center area.  If you are interested in meeting or adopting Lily, Last Hope Animal Rescue has an adoption application on their website at www.adopthope.org; so you can have easy access to start the adoption process. Please be sure to answer all the required questions. Applicants must be 21 years old; all animals in the home must be spayed/neutered, be up to date on vaccinations and be seen by their veterinarian regularly, and must be kept as indoor pets only.

Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies. Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue. The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.

Look for other cats for adoption!
