Perry County Humane Society of Illinois

We are a no kill shelter who aims to educate the public about responsible pet ownership & the importance of spaying and neutering pets. We encourage people to adopt pets instead of shopping for pets! We promote keeping pets healthy through routine vet care, getting adequate nutrition and exercise, and we recruit volunteers on a regular basis to work with our animals. We have very few employees (only 2 currently) and run almost entirely on a volunteer staff.

Meet MAGGIE

Maggie is a sweet little girl with no tail with cerebellar hypoplasia, or wobbler cats syndrome.  Wobbler cats are healthy cats, they just walk a bit funny.  Mag's is actually a mild case of the disease and we like to joke that someone just spiked her water bowl!  She's an incredibly affectionate cat who's only real need in life is a lap to make biscuits on <3 

Adoption Process
Applicants must apply and pass a thorough screening process, which includes vet and personal reference checks. They must sign contracts and pay an adoption fee.
