A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3), no-kill humane society based in the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Our family of volunteers is dedicated to rescuing, fostering, and caring for homeless dogs and orphan cats while we find them their forever homes. Meet Humphrey

Hello, I’m Humphrey, and I’m at the Darien PetSmart. I’m a beautiful long-haired brown tabby, and I’m a big guy—a whopping 24 pounds of pure love and affection. They say I was a stray, but I’m so lovable and friendly that I must have belonged to someone at some point. If only I could tell you my side of the story. I’m so happy ARF rescued me, and now I’m looking for a forever home to call my own. I’m laid-back, sweet, gentle, and I love people. Want to hang out and watch TV? I’m in. Prefer to stay home and just chill on the couch? I’m in for that too. As long as I’m by your side, I’ll be just fine. I’m sure I’ll do well with another cat, as long as they’re chill like me. Kids too—I love them! Humphrey is microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, neutered, and litter box trained. Humphrey’s adoption fee is $135. If you are interested in meeting Humphrey, please fill out our Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

Adoption Process
Read more about our adoption process on our website at: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ Adoption fees depend on the animal. Please see the pet’s biography for information on their adoption fee. Below is an overview of what you can expect during the pet adoption process: Step 1: Submit an online adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Step 2: Our volunteers will review your application and reach out with a status. This step can take up to five business days. Step 3: If your application is approved you will be invited to meet with the cat or dog you are interested in at a mutually agreed upon time and location. Step 4: We’ll walk you through the benefits of adopting through A.R.F., then complete the adoption paperwork and collect the adoption fee. Then your new best friend is yours! Step 5: Complete required follow-ups such as obedience training or spay/neuter (if delayed due to medical reasons).
