Date of Birth: 3/28/24Adoption Fee: $100.00Date Posted: 5/10/25Hi! My name is Naomi. My foster mom named me that because she thinks I am like the lady in the Bible who was known for her great strength during really tough times. I am petite but mighty! A few months ago, I wandered up on to the front porch of a house. My three tiny babies and I were very sick. The nice lady brought us inside. She took us to the vet so I could get some medicine and called the rescue people to ask for help. All of us were really sad when my babies died over the next few days one at a time. I was traumatized but I accepted my syringe feedings and took my medicine just like a little lady. I am in my foster home and healthy now. It will be wonderful to meet my forever family! Here is what you need to know about me. My fur has a fine, wispy texture so it does not get matted easily. I enjoy the company of adult cats who are nice and will not try to bully me. i hang out with foster mom's adult cats. I touch noses with three of them and we have a great time. The fourth one is not very nice so I stay away from him. Foster mom feeds me separately when we are eating our wet food in the morning because I am intimidated in his presence so I am too busy watching him to eat the yummy food. Playful young kittens who zoom around a lot annoy me. The most important thing is that I am an extremely affectionate girl who adores my humans. I thrive in a calm, relaxed atmosphere. My favorite time of day is in the quiet of the early morning when foster mom is the only one up just taking care of us kitties. I rub against her leg and gaze up at her with my gorgeous green eyes. When she reaches down, I press my head into her hand and strut back and forth to let her know I am so glad to see her. She sits on the floor and I walk up on her lap to make biscuits on her soft robe. I am a typical Calico girl demonstrating just a bit of "catitude" along with all that adorable sweetness. Every now and then, I will slightly bat a hand if my human does not understand that I have had enough pets and would like a little time to myself. For the most part, my amazing purr motor just runs and runs while I absorb all that love! I am going to be a very loyal companion and friend for the lucky human that chooses me. See you soon!
Adoption Process
Potential adopters are required to complete a detailed online application. Application screeners are trained to follow specific procedures when reviewing submitted applications. Adoption agreements are completed following approval of the application. Volunteers follow up with adopters to ensure that both people and pets are adjusting well as a family.
Currently, adoption fees are $35 as Pippi's Place is partnering with Barrow County Animal Control to foster animals and facilitate adoptions. Pippi's Place will continue to partner with animal control facilities to support their TNR work through adoptions but will also eventually begin intake of its own rescues. At that point in time, adoption fees will increase to $100 for adults and $125 for kittens to help to cover expenses when the cost of spay/neuter, medication, etc. is no longer subsidized through the partnership with the animal control facility.
