About

Meet Mocha

LOOKING FOR MY MATCH: Approx.  2 years old  / Approx.  6.5 lbs. Hi, my name is Mocha!  I am a strikingly lovely kitty who is blossoming in my foster home.  I arrived there skinny and matted and wary of trusting people, but lots of love and patience on my foster’s part has me looking and feeling better.  My ear is clipped, so I am a TNR kitty (was captured, spayed and released at some point).  I’m definitely becoming a fan of living in a loving home.  I hope to meet my new family soon – perhaps that is YOU! • OTHER CATS/DOGS/KIDS:  I live with an older kitty in my foster home, and we co-exist fine together.  Another friendly kitty in my home may be nice, though I am not looking for a playmate. / I pretty much ignore the medium sized dogs in my foster home.  I wasn’t a fan of a larger dog that visited my foster home, because he jumped at me.  If you have a kitty-friendly (or kitty-tolerant) doggie, let’s meet! / I’ve not met children, but I like to find quiet, safe zones to lounge in, so children may not be a good fit for me. • PERSONALITY INFORMATION:  Though I was on my own apparently for quite a while,  I’ve adjusted pretty well to living indoors.  I’m still very cautious and, though not a lap kitty – will tolerate being held for a limited time.  I prefer to sit nearby and will accept affection - seemingly wanting to be where my people are, but often at a distance.  My foster describes me as ‘a sweet and petite little cat who needs lots of love AND patience’.  I have a playfulness about me and just need time to adjust to a loving home where my space is respected.  I’m likely not well-suited for a first time cat owner, as I’m going to require someone to go very slow with helping me adjust to new surroundings and build trust. The time will be well spent, as I will approach you once I am comfortable and reward your patience with love.  I have a little voice – more like a squeak that a meow – so cute! • SKILLS/LITTER TRAINED STATUS:  I keep my area clean, as I am litter trained.      • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like to follow my people around and – though not really looking for your lap, I do enjoy being nearby.  I carry a little toy around in my mouth that has catnip in it, so those types of toys would be great in my new home. At playtime, I enjoy swatting little toys around and have lots of fun trying to capture the laser light on the floor. I also enjoy my scratching post.  / I don’t like the cat carrier and usually need a sedative to travel to the vet in it.  My long, gorgeous coat needs brushing…but don’t expect me to enjoy it – lol.  Perhaps with time, I will tolerate it more. • MEDICAL:   I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, combo tested negative and spayed.   I am looking for a patient and loving family to give me the time I need to adjust in a wonderful home!  My adoption fee is $175.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
