The Humane Society of McCormick County, Inc.

The Humane Society of McCormick County is a no-kill animal rescue. We pick up homeless cats and dogs in McCormick County and help them find loving homes. We offer low-cost spay and neuter to any cat or dog in the County and we a have a progressive trap - neuter or spay -and return (TNR) program and we monitor and feed several community cat colonies every day. We are 100% funded by private donations, grants and money raised through fundraising activities. All money raised goes to helping animals because we are all volunteers. The county does not have a city or county-run shelter. We are all our county has for help with homeless cats and dogs. We care for the dogs and cats that would otherwise have no other place to go.

Hey I'm Reggie and I'm a full speed ahead type of cat! My great motivation is food, food and food. I'm very handsome, young (about 2 years old), and kinda large sized. I was a spayed stray until I found my way into my foster's home through the cat door. I am smart you see and funny too. I love to chase a laser light. I prefer a home that I am allowed to go outside. If you are outside with me, even better. I know the ropes out in the wild and I am a good hunter. I am not much of a cuddler, but I do like a nap by your side on occasion and a nice head rub. Heard enough? Then let's do a meet and greet! If you have any questions or would like to meet Reggie, please contact Bille at [email protected]. This cat is posted as courtesy and is not affiliated with the Humane Society of McCormick County (HSMC). By courtesy posting, we are offering our website as an additional outlet to help an owner or rescuer gain additional exposure for the cat they are trying to place.

Adoption Process
Our adoption process starts with an interview. We want to know what type of cat or dog they are looking for, their lifestyle, and their expectations. Then we set up a meet and greet either at the shelter, a pet store, or at their home. Then they fill out an adoption contract. We offer and encourage potential adopters to take the dog or cat home on foster-to-adopt for a few weeks before finalizing the adoption. Our adoption fee is $65 for cats and $125 for dogs which included spay or neuter and vaccinations and for dogs, it includes a microchip. Cats can be microchipped upon request.

Look for other cats for adoption!
