The Humane Society of McCormick County, Inc.

The Humane Society of McCormick County is a no-kill animal rescue. We pick up homeless cats and dogs in McCormick County and help them find loving homes. We offer low-cost spay and neuter to any cat or dog in the County and we a have a progressive trap - neuter or spay -and return (TNR) program and we monitor and feed several community cat colonies every day. We are 100% funded by private donations, grants and money raised through fundraising activities. All money raised goes to helping animals because we are all volunteers. The county does not have a city or county-run shelter. We are all our county has for help with homeless cats and dogs. We care for the dogs and cats that would otherwise have no other place to go.

Meet Alphie

Alphie enjoys being petted, playtime and a window where he can catch sunbeams. He is a quiet cat and is shy until he gets to know you.  He also gets along with other felines. Alphie is a handsome black and white short-haired kitten with a birthdate of 5/26/22.  He is up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped. Alphie is looking for a quiet indoor home with toys and a family with adults and older children would be purrfect.  Alphie will reward your patience with love. ************************************************************************** This kitty is available for adoption at the Humane Society of McCormick County in South Carolina for an adoption fee. To adopt, contact us 864-391-2349 or [email protected]. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 organization. To learn more, visit www.hsmcsc.org.

Adoption Process
Our adoption process starts with an interview. We want to know what type of cat or dog they are looking for, their lifestyle, and their expectations. Then we set up a meet and greet either at the shelter, a pet store, or at their home. Then they fill out an adoption contract. We offer and encourage potential adopters to take the dog or cat home on foster-to-adopt for a few weeks before finalizing the adoption. Our adoption fee is $65 for cats and $125 for dogs which included spay or neuter and vaccinations and for dogs, it includes a microchip. Cats can be microchipped upon request.

Look for other cats for adoption!
