Pippi's Place Pet Rescue

Pippi’s Place Pet Rescue is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to reducing the number of unwanted cats and kittens through the support of local Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs as well as placement of available felines in permanent homes. We will rescue animals who are homeless due to owner surrender, endangered due to abandonment/neglect/abuse, and those at risk of being euthanized at area shelters. We will place feline companions in loving homes following a comprehensive screening process which includes ensuring a good match between the animal and prospective adopter as well as educating potential adopters about the responsibilities associated with bringing a cat into their home. All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, receive appropriate veterinary care including any necessary treatment, and will be placed in caring foster homes until the time of adoption. We will work closely with local shelters and other rescue organizations to promote the importance of spaying/neutering companion animals. We will work with these agencies to develop a network of supporters and volunteers so that we may create a better world for homeless animals.

Meet Linus

Date of Birth: 8/5/23Adoption Fee: $100.00Date Posted: 4/26/24Hi! My name is Linus. I am full of love and playfulness -- but I'm still a little bit scared. You see, I lived in a house where the people weren't very nice to me, so I learned to keep quiet and out of sight and not draw attention. But THEN - I got attacked by a dog! The doctors said it almost killed me! But it didn't. I ended up at a local animal control facility where they patched me up and took care of me until my wounds were healed. I then went to a wonderful foster home, but I'm still a little scared of people. I stayed in my little hideout in the closet for a couple of weeks, but I was always happy to get petted and loved on. It doesn't take much to get me purring -- I just worry about coming out in the open. My foster mom is happy because I've started playing even when she is watching, and I'm brave enough now to jump up on the couch and the bed. I'm learning that some people are very nice and accepting, but I still have a ways to go before I can completely relax. If you are the person who can give me time to get comfortable and gradually show my loving, playful self, I want to meet you and go home with you! In my foster home, I'm hanging out with a kitty named Mimi, who's become kind of like my sister. She has really helped me gain confidence and keeps telling me that most people are really nice. Also, she washes my face. It would be wonderful if we could go to a forever home together!

Adoption Process
Potential adopters are required to complete a detailed online application. Application screeners are trained to follow specific procedures when reviewing submitted applications. Adoption agreements are completed following approval of the application. Volunteers follow up with adopters to ensure that both people and pets are adjusting well as a family. Currently, adoption fees are $35 as Pippi's Place is partnering with Barrow County Animal Control to foster animals and facilitate adoptions. Pippi's Place will continue to partner with animal control facilities to support their TNR work through adoptions but will also eventually begin intake of its own rescues. At that point in time, adoption fees will increase to $100 for adults and $125 for kittens to help to cover expenses when the cost of spay/neuter, medication, etc. is no longer subsidized through the partnership with the animal control facility.

Look for other cats for adoption!
