Fancy Feline Rescue of the South

Fancy Feline Rescue of the South, a non-profit, no-kill rescue licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture, is a small rescue organization with a big heart for the "Fancy Feline" breeds -- particularly Persian, Himalayan, Exotic, Ragdoll, Birman, Maine Coon, Siamese, and other CFA- and TICA-recognized breeds and mixes. Our goal is to provide tender, loving care and safe-haven for those cats that are abandoned, abused, neglected, or no longer wanted by their owners, and to find appropriate, adoptive forever homes for each. While in our care, Fancy Feline Rescue of the South strives to give one-on-one socialization, providing the individual attention these cats so often need. Fancy Feline Rescue of the South is dedicated to providing individual attention and the best care possible for our cats. We evaluate each cat as to temperament, fully vet before adoption, and place them with the best adoptive home to meet the needs of the specific cat.

Meet ETHAN

Hello! I’m ETHAN (DOB: ~04/26/2024) a male Seal Lynx Balinese mix. I was found by a kind soul after being hit by a car and was taken to a local animal control facility with a seriously broken back leg. Thankfully, FFRS rescued me and immediately took me to a trusted veterinary orthopedist who successfully repaired my leg. I'm fully recovered, and once my fur grows back, it’ll be nearly impossible to tell which leg was broken. I recently went into my foster home and I’ve warmed up pretty quickly. I love to chirp, meow, purr, and make biscuits when my foster mom spends time with me. Although I’m not really a lap cat, I enjoy being nearby and playing, both on my own and with interactive toys. I'm a sweet, curious, and playful guy, though I am a bit hand-shy. My past wasn’t the best, and I wasn’t treated well before I found my way to rescue. I’m never aggressive, but I tend to shy away from hands until I understand that I’m being gently petted and not grabbed or hurt. One of my favorite things is shoulder massages! I can be a bit submissive and timid at times, but once I feel safe, I really come out of my shell. I would thrive in a quiet home with no young children or dogs, please! Barking dogs terrify me, but a calm, non-dominant cat is okay. Loud noises freak me out, and I tend to retreat to my carrier or bed when they happen. It's important that I have a space where I can’t hide under a bed or furniture until I settle in. I will need a little patience as I adjust, but I should warm up pretty quickly. I genuinely believe I'm a great cat, and it’s time for me to be a loved indoor-only family member. I am neutered, up-to-date with vaccines, negative for Feline FIV/FeLV, dewormed, have received flea preventative, and am microchipped. My adoption fee is $150.00.
