Springfield Kitty Cat Shack Rescue

AboutSpringfield Kitty Cat Shack Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in Jacksonville, Florida. We are a small volunteer-run non-profit that had humble beginnings in 2019.Our rescue's mission is on taming feral and sick kitties too old to go to ACPS or the Humane Society. This is no small undertaking! The need is great, and we help as many cats and kittens as we can. Sometimes this means rescuing a sick kitty, trapping feral cats and kittens, and other times it’s giving a pregnant mom a safe place to have her kittens. Before starting the rescue, we were involved in TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) activities, fostering, and volunteering at local shelters in Jacksonville, FL.During the summer of 2018, we focused on fostering semi-feral kittens ( the sick and the hissy) through local shelters and then on our own. Due to our success of re-homing so many cats and kittens, we decided to make it official in December 2018.

Meet Millie (F) & Finn (M)

*Bonded Pair* Finn DOB: 03/03/2023 Millie DOB: 04/09/2022 Millie, an affectionate feline, and her adorable kittens were found in April 2023 and swiftly placed in foster care after giving birth. Millie enjoys perching high to observe her surroundings, displaying a blend of caution and boundless curiosity. Whether attentively watching your activities or attempting to assist, she thrives on the companionship of a good petting session and sitting close, especially during a game of solitaire. Despite not being drawn to string toys, she finds joy in chasing her tail and indulging in catnip-infused playthings. Finn smoothly became part of Millie's foster family, seamlessly fitting in with her three kittens due to their matching ages. Treated as one of the boys and considered Millie's stepson, he formed a bond possibly even closer than with her own kittens. With dragon-like features, Finn takes on the role of a treasure guardian. Though initially shy and timid, he has gradually warmed up to gentle petting. Engaging in conversation with him reveals a cat that not only looks at you but also understands, showcasing a blend of feline intuition and deep intelligence. All of our foster kitties are raised in foster homes, are up to date on vaccines for their size, spayed/neutered, FELV/FIV tested and microchipped. Interested in adopting?
