Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society

PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. PAWS is Philadelphia's largest no-kill shelter and is working to make Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. Through its adoption locations, special events, and foster care network, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals each year.In March 2010, PAWS opened a low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic serving pet owners and rescues in an effort to keep pets healthy and reduce the homeless pet population. Located in the Grays Ferry section of the city, the Clinic serves pet owners who have difficulty affording or do not have access to basic veterinary care (sterilization, vaccinations, treatments for upper respiratory infections/parasites/fleas, etc.) and rescue organizations that need affordable spay/neuter surgery and basic veterinary care to carry out their lifesaving work. Support for PAWS funds lifesaving initiatives including adoption and foster care programs, spay/neuter surgeries, low-cost vaccinations, and other efforts, all of which help reduce and will ultimately eliminate the unnecessary killing of Philadelphia's animals. Donations to PAWS are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Meet Ginkgo

Ginkgo is the playful and fun kitten of your dreams! Ginkgo is the cuddly, playful new friend you’ve been searching for! At around a year old, she has lots of kitten energy and love to give. She loves to play, her favorites being wand toys, ball toys, and anything else she can get the zoomies with. When she’s not playing, Ginkgo just wants to cuddle up on your lap for a nap. She also likes to sit on the window sill to snoop on all her neighbors, and will also be your couch buddy and watch TV with you (nature documentaries are her favorite). When she wants you to give her love, she’ll chirp and headbutt/rub you in the most adorable way! Ginkgo is very friendly and loves to meet new people to get pets and love from! We haven’t seen Ginkgo interact with other animals or kids yet, but she is very well-mannered meeting new people. She wants to always be your shadow, but she is also totally fine being home alone while you’re out. Ginkgo had an eye infection in her right eye before getting to the shelter, though as of now it does not need to be removed and no extra care is needed. Besides that, she is a perfectly healthy bundle of energy and love. Ginkgo has so much love and life to give and can’t wait to get to her FURever home! Age: 1 year How I came to PAWS: shelter transfer Animal ID#:A-53157 I am not at the shelter. Please email my foster parent at [[email protected]] to learn more about me!
