Looking for the perfect co-captain to sail straight into your heart? This ball of sunshine thrives on companionship and chin scratches. Quick to warm up, he chirps for head pets before melting into your hand. When not head-butting your legs, he may leap and toss his toys around, and, though he’ll follow you everywhere, he is considerate of your personal space. He prefers to be next to you rather than on top of you and will sleep at the foot of the bed, waiting patiently until you wake up. Captain Baja was found stray in rough shape. His right eye is healing from previous trauma, and he is left with a bald spot and upturned eye. He is also FIV+, has had a few dental extractions, and has cystitis, which just means he’ll need a special urinary care diet (which he’s a big fan of!) and proper hydration. Despite this, he is in good health (no meds) and is making incredible progress on his summer glow-up. Sweet, loyal, easygoing Baja doesn’t let his past define him. He is ready for a low-stress home with a family who will match his playful energy and shower him and his big, goofy heart with love. He would do well as your one and only or with other friendly FIV+ cats. To ensure your best experience and best chance at meeting your new furry family member, we recommend completing the application ahead of your visit, which you can find at phillypaws.org/catapp!!** **FIV is specific to the feline species, and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. It is spread from cat to cat via mating or deep puncture bite wounds. Thankfully, all our cats are spayed or neutered so mating is no longer an option! Since FIV does not spread through casual contact like grooming, sneezing, and food/litter sharing, FIV+ cats can live with other cats that have tested negative as long as the cats get along without fighting.
