Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society

PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. PAWS is Philadelphia's largest no-kill shelter and is working to make Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. Through its adoption locations, special events, and foster care network, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals each year.In March 2010, PAWS opened a low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic serving pet owners and rescues in an effort to keep pets healthy and reduce the homeless pet population. Located in the Grays Ferry section of the city, the Clinic serves pet owners who have difficulty affording or do not have access to basic veterinary care (sterilization, vaccinations, treatments for upper respiratory infections/parasites/fleas, etc.) and rescue organizations that need affordable spay/neuter surgery and basic veterinary care to carry out their lifesaving work. Support for PAWS funds lifesaving initiatives including adoption and foster care programs, spay/neuter surgeries, low-cost vaccinations, and other efforts, all of which help reduce and will ultimately eliminate the unnecessary killing of Philadelphia's animals. Donations to PAWS are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Meet Lisa Vanderpump

The crown is heavy, darlings, so just leave it where it belongs. Lisa is as elegant as her name sake, without the drama. Kids? Loves them. Dogs, unbothered by them. She is quite literally the most perfect companion. She will want to be with her people, but isn't overly clingy. It’s a wonder in a matter of just 1.5 years, Lisa Vanderpump has managed to develop the sort of poise, elegance, and refinement synonymous with her name- while still managing to raise 4 healthy kittens. She carries herself as if it’s her life’s intent to dispel the “orange cat” stereotype, one graceful step at a time. She greets every visitor with chirps and purrs, rubbing against you and plopping down next to you so you can gently give her scratches. Lisa can make an empty room feel full of love, but also knows how to work a room full of people. While Lisa never has to become a mother again, she still maintains a maternal nurturing way with her kittens. She does not have to be adopted with any of her kittens, but she might enjoy it (Kristin & Katie, A179637 & A179638, available for adoption). Not only has she been an amazing mother to her babies, she seems to really come alive around babies & young children. Whenever there is a group of people, she will immediately choose the youngest and go straight up to them. She would do amazing with a family, and has even shown tolerance to dogs! If you are looking for a chatty, poised young lady, look no further, Lisa Vanderpump has it all! Age: 1.5 years How I came to PAWS: Found stray Animal ID#: A179636 I am not at the shelter.
