125Meet Carmela
Carmela is a polydactile kitty and is so equisit! Her beautiful green eyes and her gentle nature come shining through and she approaches for a pat on the head, a scratch on her back and some loving words from foster mama. She twines her tail around her sister's tail as they walk together across the room - so charming! Carmela is a very gentle, sweet cat. She is timid having recently been rescued off the street. From information gathered by the cat colony caretaker, and neighbors eye-witness accounts, Carmela and her sister Edie were brought to a location in Poughkeepsie and released from their carriers in December 2024. They were not seen again (by our volunteers) until May 2025 when they and their 6 kittens arrived for meals. No animal deserves to be abandoned like this, and we are so impressed that Carmela and Edie are as sweet as they are. We would love for these two sisters (?) to be adopted together. Her sister is their representative and is very vocal! We estimate her birthday to be June 1, 2024. Carmela and her family were rescued from the City of Poughkeepsie, NY. Our required adoption donation is $150 per kitten or $125 per cat (older than 9 months). All our rescues are up to date on shots, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLV/Heartworm. They are dewormed, treated for parasites and free of fleas. Each is spayed or neutered and given a rabies vaccination. An application must be completed to be considered to adopt from Stray HELP. You can download it from HERE OR directly ONLINE If your application is approved we conduct a home visit for final approval of adoption.
