Meet Nimbus

Being gorgeous, stately, and adorable is just part of the wonderful package you will get with our Mr. Nimbus. Nimbus is about 3 years old and was found as an unneutered stray visiting yards and decks and looking longingly inside doors as if searching for a home. He was trapped and brought to the shelter where he was initially cool and calm. However, after being vetted and neutered, shelter life quickly became stressful for Nimbus. Nimbus was started on medications to help calm his anxiety and it became clear that he needed to move out of the shelter and into foster care in the hopes that the initially sweet side of him could be rediscovered once the stress of the shelter was removed. His foster mom worked diligently with Nimbus to teach him that humans and their touch are not a threat, but a truly wonderful thing. As a result, Nimbus has blossomed into an outgoing, confident, affectionate kitty who loves everyone he meets, rubs against you for pets, and wants nothing more than to sit in your lap and be loved. Nimbus’s favorite time of the day is the evening when it is time to cuddle on his foster mom’s lap and watch Jeopardy. Nimbus also has a very playful side, loves when you play with him and will chase wand toys, laser lights, and his mice. He loves sitting in his window watching the birds and squirrels in the yard. He is a quiet cat that doesn’t meow very much, is fastidious about his litter habits and grooming, and is excellent at only scratching his scratching posts and not the furniture. Since being in foster care, Nimbus is down to a single pill a day to continue to manage any residual anxiety, which he readily gobbles down in a pill pocket. It is hopeful that once he transitions into his new home and settles in, he will likely be able to discontinue this last medication. Since Nimbus is such an outgoing, confident cat, he will need a home without small children and cat-savvy adults with experience working with anxious cats to help him maintain the good habits he has learned. He should be the only cat in the home given his dominant personality. Nimbus has not been assessed for compatibility with dogs. Nimbus is a truly wonderful boy that is fun, affectionate, and very interactive, and he will provide his lucky forever family with much love and entertainment.   As we are closed to the public, adoptions are by appointment only. If you have an interest in meeting Nimbus, please fill out our online  adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MWHS/Cat). We will review all applications and make appointments for those applicants we feel would provide a good and loving home for Nimbus.
