Meet Hazel Nut
This sweet girl has developed into a happy, outgoing, confident, playful, and energetic kitten. She purrs when she greets you and is very loving. Hazel Nut loves to follow you around the house. She was the only surviving kitten from her abandoned litter that were only one day old when rescued. She has the pointiest points on her oversized kitten ears. They make her look a little like a cat elf. Super cute! Hazel Nut will do best with another kitten or younger cat that likes to wrestle and play with her. She likes having a friend. She didn't have other kittens or a Mom to show her how to play gently, she can be a little rough with her play style. Avoid playing with fingers or hands and focus her on cat toys instead. She settles down right away if you redirect her. She will also happily play on her own. She's good with dogs and cats in her foster home. She will probably do fine with older, gentle kids. We estimate she was born on February 26, 2025. Kitty Bio #237DR-Ha. If you're interested in adopting Hazel Nut or another of our cats, please fill out our adoption questionnaire at https://icraeastbay.org/adopt/how-to/.
Adoption Process
Potential adopters pick out a cat or kitten and fill out an application. There will be a short interview with one of our volunteers. Adoptions do not happen same day. We will arrange a time to visit your home and the foster parents and a volunteer will meet there.
Our adoption fee structure is:
Cats and kittens (under 8 years): $100
Cats (over 8 years): $75
Two cats adopted together: Full amount of the higher fee, half the amount of the lower or same fee. For example: a kitten and a cat (under 8) would be $100.00 + 50.00 = $150.00
We require that all cats be kept indoor only. We have an adoption contract.
