Meet HAMPTON*

Hampton arrived with some injuries and some parasites, from a farmland area, where he likely survived mostly on what he could catch and eat. He had an injury on his front left paw. He was trapped and brought in and he was a little shy at first, but he warmed up quickly, really likes being around people and getting pets, and he was patient for his treatments. He seems pretty content to not have to depend entirely on himself for survival! Hampton did test postive for FIV, which is an immune deficiency virus usually spread through bites. Because of this, he'll need an indoor home, and should probably be the only kitty in the house (although with proper slow introductions and enough space and resources to reduce or eliminate the need for any fighting, he may do just fine with another cat). Cats with FIV can live long, healthy, wonderful lives and this guy will definitely appreciate and love every minute of pampered indoor-pet life he can get! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
