Saving One Life

Saving One Life is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer run, animal rescue that focuses almost completely on the animals that would have been otherwise euthanized at the pound or humane society. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save. We specialize in purebred cats, feral kittens, and severe medical cases when we have funding to do so. We very rarely take owner surrender animals. We are a no kill group and we only euthanize animals for medical issues that cannot be fixed with veterinary care (fatal illnesses, extreme prolonged suffering). We provide hospice care for animals in our care with terminal illnesses. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes until they are able to go up for adoption. We may occasionally have animals in foster homes as long as four years (the running record so far) until they are adopted – once an animal is in our rescue, we will do everything feasible to care for that animal. Our foster animals live as a “part of the family” until they are able to be put up for adoption. If we can, we will test them with cats, dogs, and children depending on who lives in the home. Not all cats get tested with kids or dogs if they are not available. As a result of this, we really care where and how our animals are placed. We want the best possible situation for our animals AND the adoptive family. We reserve the right to deny any adoption.

Meet Kitney Pawyer

Meet Kitney – A Sweet Snuggle Expert! Kitney started her life on the streets, but she's all heart. From the moment she arrived with us, she was ready to love—and be loved. Pick her up and she'll bury her face in your shoulder, giving you a gentle hug while soaking up the pets. She's a bit shy at first, but once she trusts you, she's incredibly loyal and affectionate. Kitney's ideal day includes lounging in a sunny window, napping on a cozy bed, and curling up beside her person. She enjoys quiet companionship and will purr contentedly when you pet her head. Kitney likes calm environments and is sensitive to loud noises like vacuums or thunder. She's playful in a low-key way—her favorite toys are the ones hiding under rugs or blankets. She'd likely do well with a calm, non-dominant cat or would be perfectly happy as your one-and-only lovebug. Note that Kitney has a some food allergyies and must remain on a special diet. If you're looking for a sweet, loyal companion who loves cuddles, sunbeams, and quiet time with her favorite human, Kitney is waiting to meet you!Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, be tested for FeLV/FIV (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations and preventative deworming as appropriate for age, and be microchipped prior to adoption. Adoption Process: Our adoptable animals are located at one of our adoption centers or in foster homes. We require interested parties to apply prior to meeting to ensure a good match. Once an application is approved, a meet and greet will be coordinated. Applications can be submitted on our website at www.savingonelife.org/adopt/apply. Adoption Centers: We are fortunate to have locations where you can meet our adoptable kittens and cats. For more information on our locations at various PetSmart Adoption Centers in the Phoenix area and our partnership with Kitty Pause Kitty Café in Mesa, visit https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations .

Adoption Process
All adopters must complete an application with possible brief interview if there are additional questions concerning the application. All adopters also sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee depending on the age, breed, and status of the cat (special needs etc).
