Saving One Life

Saving One Life is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer run, animal rescue that focuses almost completely on the animals that would have been otherwise euthanized at the pound or humane society. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save. We specialize in purebred cats, feral kittens, and severe medical cases when we have funding to do so. We very rarely take owner surrender animals. We are a no kill group and we only euthanize animals for medical issues that cannot be fixed with veterinary care (fatal illnesses, extreme prolonged suffering). We provide hospice care for animals in our care with terminal illnesses. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes until they are able to go up for adoption. We may occasionally have animals in foster homes as long as four years (the running record so far) until they are adopted – once an animal is in our rescue, we will do everything feasible to care for that animal. Our foster animals live as a “part of the family” until they are able to be put up for adoption. If we can, we will test them with cats, dogs, and children depending on who lives in the home. Not all cats get tested with kids or dogs if they are not available. As a result of this, we really care where and how our animals are placed. We want the best possible situation for our animals AND the adoptive family. We reserve the right to deny any adoption.

Meet Apple & Banana Peel BONDED PAIR

Approximate Date of Birth:4/15/2023 Description:  About Apple:  Apple has a heart as soft as his fur, the shy type that peaks around corners with wide, curious eyes. This little one might take a bit to warm up, but once he does, it's like you've been let in on a secret garden of affection. He's not the sort to meow loudly for attention (unless it is dinner time) instead, he might just silently appear by your side, a small, warm presence that seems to say, "I'm here if you need me." This kitty finds comfort in the quieter nooks, yet his curiosity about the world around it is as clear as the bright sparkle in its eyes when he's watching the world from its favorite safe spot. When evening comes, this is when Apple likes to shine and is his most brave and interactive self. Words to Describe Me: Sweet, gentle, takes longer to come out of his shell Favorite Place to Sleep: With his brother Favorite Toy: Chasing balls and string Perfect Day: Apple's perfect day is waking up next to his brother, eating breakfast, playing with his brother, watching the birds out the window, and at night coming out to interact with the house. Kitty's Likes: Head scratches Kitty's Dislikes: Loud noises Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Opening a can of wet food Favorite Treat: Churu Job Title in Foster: Ornithologist When I Grow Up, I Want to Be: Bird Chaser Other Info: A sweet loving boy who just needs time to come out of his shell. About Banana: Banana is a fuzzy little love bug. He has soft fur that is a dream to pet, and big expressive eyes that seem to get you. His purr chases away any type of gloom. He's got a playful side too, finding joy in the simplest things – a piece of string can become the greatest adventure. And laughter? You'll have plenty of that watching his latest antics. As the day winds down, this cat is the perfect chill companion. He makes every day a bit brighter and a lot more fun. Words to Describe Me: Sweet, calm, social, curious, affectionate Favorite Place to Sleep: With his brother Favorite Toy: Chasing balls or string Perfect Day: Banana's perfect day is waking up with his brother, getting breakfast, engaging in play time with his brother, & checking in with his humans.
