Saving One Life

Saving One Life is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer run, animal rescue that focuses almost completely on the animals that would have been otherwise euthanized at the pound or humane society. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save. We specialize in purebred cats, feral kittens, and severe medical cases when we have funding to do so. We very rarely take owner surrender animals. We are a no kill group and we only euthanize animals for medical issues that cannot be fixed with veterinary care (fatal illnesses, extreme prolonged suffering). We provide hospice care for animals in our care with terminal illnesses. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes until they are able to go up for adoption. We may occasionally have animals in foster homes as long as four years (the running record so far) until they are adopted – once an animal is in our rescue, we will do everything feasible to care for that animal. Our foster animals live as a “part of the family” until they are able to be put up for adoption. If we can, we will test them with cats, dogs, and children depending on who lives in the home. Not all cats get tested with kids or dogs if they are not available. As a result of this, we really care where and how our animals are placed. We want the best possible situation for our animals AND the adoptive family. We reserve the right to deny any adoption.

Meet Fimka ToffeeApple

Approximate Date of Birth:11/20/2022 Description: This shy and gentle beauty will melt your heart. Fimka must have been someone's pet at some point. Whether she was dumped or escaped we'll never know, but she ended up living alone on the street. Eventually, however, a feeder realized she is a lovebug at heart and brought her inside. Being in such a scary situation, Fimka became pretty shy. if given a week or two she will socialize and reveal her true self. Your patience will be rewarded with lots or purrs and requests for pets. She does enjoy her cat cave and likes to put herself to bed in her cat bed. During the day, she likes to sit on the back of couch and look out the window. Fimka is chatty and is gentle with everyone. She will flop over on her belly when you rub her cheeks and meow for more. She loves to play with plastic springs or squishy cat toy. Fimka enjoys playing with yarn tied to a stick. She likes to scratch on a cat post and cardboard scratchers. Fimka has learned to play with treat puzzles and loves the reward. She responses to her name when called, sit near you and make biscuits.
