Saving One Life

Saving One Life is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer run, animal rescue that focuses almost completely on the animals that would have been otherwise euthanized at the pound or humane society. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save. We specialize in purebred cats, feral kittens, and severe medical cases when we have funding to do so. We very rarely take owner surrender animals. We are a no kill group and we only euthanize animals for medical issues that cannot be fixed with veterinary care (fatal illnesses, extreme prolonged suffering). We provide hospice care for animals in our care with terminal illnesses. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes until they are able to go up for adoption. We may occasionally have animals in foster homes as long as four years (the running record so far) until they are adopted – once an animal is in our rescue, we will do everything feasible to care for that animal. Our foster animals live as a “part of the family” until they are able to be put up for adoption. If we can, we will test them with cats, dogs, and children depending on who lives in the home. Not all cats get tested with kids or dogs if they are not available. As a result of this, we really care where and how our animals are placed. We want the best possible situation for our animals AND the adoptive family. We reserve the right to deny any adoption.

Meet Kokomo Baye

Approximate Date of Birth:11/1/2015 Description:  If you are looking for a cat that will be a loyal companion, one who will follow you around, and most importantly one who will talk to you constantly and isn't afraid to let you know what you are doing wrong then Kokomo Baye is your girl! This girl has been around a while and doesn't gatekeep all that knowledge she's acquired. Now, understanding it is your job; she does not come with a translator. While Koko doesn't enjoy being picked up and carried around, if you situate yourself on a comfy spot she is more than happy to find her spot on your lap and soak in all the love you pour over her. Kokomo Baye isn't a huge fan of the company of other animal friends, but if they are willing to respect her personal space she has no issue with them coexisting with her glorious self. In her humble opinion other animals aren't very interesting, but people are better than anything else (well expect may be Churu treats....and Temptations...) Words to Describe Me: Mature, Vocal, Lovely Favorite Place to Sleep: A warm sunray on a soft blanket Favorite Toy: Scratchers Perfect Day: Hanging out with some people, taking some naps, and plenty of treats Kitty's Likes: Ears scratched and back petting Kitty's Dislikes: Be picked up Fastest Way to Get Me to Purr: Just look at her and you'll get that purr motor going Favorite Treat: Churu and Temptations Job Title in Foster: The Granny Other Info: Absolutely loves to make biscuits Good with Cats: Ambivalent towards cats. Good with Dogs:  Ambivalent towards dogs. Good with Children: Unknown. Companion Animal: Not necessary.  Requires a feline companion always. Requires a companion if left alone for long periods of time. Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested (as indicated by age), receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption as appropriate by age. Adoption Process:   Our adoptable animals are located at one of our adoption centers or in foster homes. We require interested parties to apply prior to meeting to ensure a good match. Applications can be submitted on our website at  www.savingonelife.org/adopt/apply. PetSmart Adoption Centers:    For more information on our locations,  visit  https://www.savingonelife.org/adopt/locations .

Adoption Process
All adopters must complete an application with possible brief interview if there are additional questions concerning the application. All adopters also sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee depending on the age, breed, and status of the cat (special needs etc).

Look for other cats for adoption!
