Have A Blast With Your Pup This 4th of July

The 4th of July is coming!! Time for backyard BBQ, hanging out at the lake, and popping off some fireworks. It’s going to be fun! Unfortunately, probably not for your favorite four-legged family members. Either they’re stuck at home OR cowering in the bathroom from the fireworks.

Luckily – It doesn’t have to be that way! Find out how you can make the most of your 4th of July with your fur buddy!

Keep them chill, calm, and relaxed
Without a doubt,  most dogs are startled by or scared of fireworks. Keeping them calm, happy, and relaxed while you’re celebrating the 4th can be a stressful task. Longtime pet parent and Alpha Paw fan, Kyler, will be taking his pup Rusty, to the lake.  It’s a spot that’s usually filled with people, noise, other dogs, and fireworks. Simply put, it can be a stressful situation for Rusty, but Kyler figured out how to keep Rusty happy, and relaxed.

Kyler, “I don’t know about you, but almost every dog I’ve raised has been scared of fireworks.  Rusty was no exception. He used to run to the bathroom and hide behind the toilet. But luckily it’s the 21st century and there are ways to help pups like Rusty enjoy the display with us.

This 4th of July, I’m going to do exactly what I do when a thunderstorm is coming our way.

First, I give him one of these calming chews. And since they’re freaking delicious, we just tell him it’s time for a treat. He gobbles it right up. They help him stay calm and mellow throughout the storm.”

Try these out with your pup and fireworks should be no problem as the bombs go bursting in this summer. Get your calming chews here.

Pair the treats up with your dog’s new favorite blanket, the cozy calming blanket, and they will sleep the night away.

Designed to mimic the comfort of a mother’s coat, your pup will fall in love with this blanket. When you’re done setting off your fireworks, you may have neighbors celebrating all night long. Let your dog wrap themselves up in this cozy blanket and they should have no trouble calming down for bedtime. Grab your cozy calming blanket.

If blankets aren’t your dog’s thing, you can still give them calming comfort with a cozy dog bed. Similar to the calming blanket, the cozy calming bed is designed to feel like a mother’s fur to help comfort your anxious pup.

Don’t just take our word for it – the reviews speak for themselves. Read reviews from over 1,000 dog parents about how this bed has helped their pups.

Need an extra edge in case you’re worried your dog will still be anxious? Add this calming diffuser to the room. Scientifically formulated to help calm and relax your dog at home.”

Bring them with you!
Going to your friend’s house, or just traveling in general? Take your pup (as long as your friend is cool with it). They’ll feel safer and have more confidence knowing that you’re there to protect them.  Make sure their car ride to your friend’s house is also as comfortable as can be!

Load them up quickly and easily with a car ramp! Instead of lifting them into your car or truck, they can just run up the ramp and load up. When it’s time to get out, they can run down without hurting themselves from the jump. This has been a game-changer for many dogs!

Once they’re inside, strap them in with their very own car safety seat belt! Even if there aren’t a lot of twists and turns on your route, you want to have peace of mind knowing that your four-legged friend is safely secured. Just insert the one end to any seat buckle, and link up with their collar. 2 steps, and they’re settled in!  If your fur buddy is a smaller dog, add in the dog safety seat. It’s sturdy, yet soft and plushy, and it’ll keep your pup safe during the car ride. Get yours here.

Give them something to keep entertained
Dogs love toys and what better toy than one that moves and resembles fish? It’s perplexing for dogs and they can’t get enough of it.

Kyler is bringing this toy for Rusty, and a lake is a fitting place for the hilarious bouncy fish, but it can be enjoyed everywhere.  It’s sure to keep your puppy distracted through the noise and fireworks.
