Pet Experts
We’re Here to Help.
Why We Assembled Our Board of Pet Experts
Pets are family, and our mission is to help you be the best pet parent you can be. That’s why we launched The Alpha Paw Pack’s Board of Pet Experts.
As animal lovers and pet parents ourselves, we felt it was absolutely necessary to bring together some of the best pet care experts and veterinary practitioners in the world to write, review, and approve everything we put out there – so you can rest assured, everything from our products, to our expert content, to our recommended resources, has the medical stamp of approval from an expert.
Because at the end of the day, we’re here to help, and we’d expect the same level of care, quality, and expertise for our own furry family.
How It All Started
Our pack leader, Ramon van Meer, made a powerful promise when he founded our company in 2018: everything we do, everything we recommend, and everything we offer gets the medical stamp of approval from an expert.
Ramon’s first initiative as Alpha Paw’s founder was to interview dozens of pet care professionals. That’s when he met Dr. Ross Bernstein, Alpha Paw’s original veterinarian and the head of our Board of Pet Experts. Together, Ramon and Dr. Ross developed Alpha Paw’s range of honest, high-quality products designed to help your pets live a long and happy life.
Since then:
- We’ve expanded our Board of Pet Experts
to include licensed dog behaviorists, renowned pet care authors, and of course, more clinical veterinarians.
- We’ve defined clear editorial guidelines
to help us produce high-quality content that’s completely free of false claims, outdated information, bad advice, or fake news.
- We’ve adopted a streamlined veterinary review process,
with a scalable workflow that makes it possible for us to ensure everything we touch gets the medical stamp of approval from an expert.
We won’t stop until we’ve armed you with the best products, resources, and information out there to help you make the right decision for your pet’s wellbeing, safety, and happiness.
"Many pet supply businesses don't take the time to thoroughly research the health implications of the products they sell, much less seek out the medical advice of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine like myself. That's why I'm proud to partner with Alpha Paw – they truly care about the welfare of the pets they serve."
The Vet Stamp of Approval:
Badges to Look For
Every product you’ll find on our site is expert-reviewed & vet-approved. Yup, you read that right – every. single. one. Because at Alpha Paw, we're 100% committed to helping your furry family lead happier, healthier, and longer lives.
We apply that same logic to our content production process: we firmly believe it’s our duty to ensure every product we design, resource we recommend, and piece of content we publish is completely trustworthy, accurate, and up-to-date with the latest information from the scientific journals and authoritative resources that circulate the animal medical field.
After all, we’re on a mission to help you be the best pet parent you can be – and if we’re failing to provide trustworthy information, we’re letting down the hundreds of thousands of loving pet parents and dog lovers that make up the Alpha Paw Pack. And letting you down is something we simply refuse to let happen.
You’ll know the content you’re reading has earned the Vet Stamp of Approval when you see the badge! Just look for this tell-tale sign that you’re reading reliable information or browsing great products:

The Vet Stamp of Approval
Ah, the coveted Vet Stamp of Approval. We live for this badge. When you see it, you’ll know you’re in good hands. (Not seeing the badge on an article that needs it? Reach out to us and we’ll get right on it!)

The Pet Parent Tried & Tested Badge
When you see this badge, you’ll know the product has been tried & tested by our team of passionate pet parents. Look out for a quote from one of our crazy dog people! We try to include our own experience on each product page.
Our Veterinary Review Process:
How It Works
The feedback we receive from our customers is vital to our success. We listen closely to our community of pet lovers to understand the biggest pain points and challenges you’re experiencing, the obstacles and hurdles you’re facing, and the burning questions you’re asking at each step of the pet parenthood journey.
We use that valuable insight to ensure we’re fulfilling our mission of helping you be the best pet parent you can be.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how our content production and veterinary review process works, so you can continue to browse our site with confidence, bookmark our resources for safekeeping, and share your favorite posts & products with friends and family – all with the peace of mind that you’re sharing valuable, trustworthy, and 100% accurate information.
Our expert writers, veterinary review board, and editors work together to bring you reliable information you can trust.
Here’s how it works:
Our expert writers are accredited pet professionals, and they follow an extremely rigorous production process that we’re very proud of (and continually impressed by). They research the latest information from the most authoritative publications and trustworthy resources in the pet industry, creating content that is high-quality, accurate, and packed with useful advice.
Next, we assign the article to a member of our Board of Pet Experts based on their areas of expertise. Our veterinarians adhere to strict medical review guidelines, reviewing each article line-by-line, meticulously fact-checking and making edits for accuracy and reliability. It then goes back to the writer, who reviews the feedback and updates the article accordingly.
If the content passes our experts’ stringent guidelines, the article moves on to our editorial team to review and edit for style, grammar, and readability. Only then, when the content has been written, reviewed, and approved by editorial & veterinary experts, does the content earn the coveted Expert Stamp of Approval.
Then we publish.
Nothing goes live until an expert approves it. That’s how we stick to our promise and consistently bring you the best content, from the most authoritative experts, right when you need it most.
Trust me, I’m a Dog-tor.
