Meet Orion

This big guy's name is Orion! He is a five-year-old Pit Bull mix who was brought to us by a local animal control officer when he was found in unfortunate living conditions. He lived in the woods on a chain without shelter, food or clean water for quite a bit of his life and with minimal interaction. After being brought to us we were able to put some weight on him and get him neutered once he was deemed healthy enough. Unfortunately he tested positive for Heartworm so he is currently undergoing treatment - all provided by the shelter. Orion loves to play although he is on exercise restrictions due to the Heartworm infection so he will need to find stimulation either through training, puzzles, or low-energy play. He unfortunately does not have any experience with other animals so he will need to be an only pet in his new home and should be in a home with older children over 13 years of age. This dog is a sweet boy who has a long road ahead of him and is in need of a loving and patient home where he can figure out what it is to be a house dog and a family pet.
