VT Dog Rescue

VT Dog Rescue is a non-profit canine rescue focused on saving the Underdog. The sweet dogs who are passed over day after day simply because they are not perfect. Who is an underdog?- older dogs who are wise and love to snuggle- tri-pawed dogs who are happily enjoying life with 3 legs- shy dogs who need a little extra love to help them build confidence - dogs who may limp or have a physical limitation that humans see as a flaw, but they accept with dignity - dogs who are missing an eye and have adapted to navigate their world The Underdogs have, against all odds, retained their ability to be loyal and trusting companions who love us unconditionally. We believe the Underdogs, just like other shelter dogs, deserve to be rescued and placed in loving, responsible homes where they can shine.

Meet Andy

Andy is 4 1/2 years old and weighs about 34 pounds. He has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccines.   He loves going to daycare, gets along well with other dogs and currently shares his home peacefully with 2 cats. He even rubs noses with them. They are good friends.  Andy is fully housebroken, crate trained, and knows some tricks. He is the perfect lap dog size. His DNA test results show a wonderful mix of breeds including:    25% Labrador Retriever 12.5% English Foxhound 12.5% Japanese Shiba Inu 12.5% Rottweiler 37.5% Breed Group(s) Terrier, Hound    He is described as moderately active, eager to play, excited to join his people for adventures, but does not need to be in motion to be happy. If you want to go for a walk, he's happy to go.  If you are having a quiet day, Andy is okay with that, too. Easy going dog.  We highly recommend training classes for all of our dogs to get everyone off to a great start. Training recommendations are available.   HIGHLIGHTS:  - 4 1/2 years old - 34 lbs - Friendly - Affectionate - Housebroken - Crate trained - Great with dogs - Great with cats - Up to date on vaccines - Heartworm negative (tested this month) Our adoption fee is $400 which includes age appropriate vaccines (such as Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo, Rabies), neutering, worming, micro-chipping, and health exam.
