Passion 4 Paws

Mission Statement: Our Mission is to rescue homeless, abandoned, neglected, or abused dogs. By working with committed volunteers, already established veterinarians and trainers, we will nurture, provide medical care, and rehabilitation to these animals while providing a safe and loving "cage-free" environment for as long as it takes to find them adoptive homes. Our Vision: Our vision is to decrease the amount of dogs put to death every year, and prevent cruelty and suffering to all animals. Through humane education via our resources and educational classes, we aim to increase public awareness regarding the over population of adoptable animals in municipal shelters and beyond, and to that end we are firmly committed to:-Rescuing dogs from municipal shelters that are in danger of being euthanized-Educating the public on the importance of responsible pet ownership, including spaying and neutering of companion animals and micro-chipping pets-Advocating for animals through political participation with our Community representatives

Meet Hank

IN VERMONT Meet Hank (fka Buttercup)! https://youtu.be/Z88-yYA7rQI Hank is 7 years old (approx. DOB 1-5-16), male, 59 lbs., vetted, is or will be neutered, and micro-chipped. His name describes this handsome hunk perfectly! Hank was great in play groups at the shelter and got along well with other dogs (had a BFF Draco)! Hank is a very affectionate dog who loves everyone he meets. He enjoys walks on a leash and playing in the yard. Hank's favorite treat is hot dogs, and his favorite activity is tug-o-war! Hank is crate trained (does well), has low-medium energy, is potty trained, has not exhibited a prey drive (for cat considerations), and he knows Down/Sit/No/and Crate. He really is super chill and loves playing with his tennis ball. Plays for a few minutes and then sleeps. If allowed, he will cuddle up on furniture. We feel he has been allowed on furniture in past and fed people food. He knows when the refrigerator opens. He responds very well to be called back in the home or outside. Hank responds very well to verbal communication and we have been able to recall him in back yard. He does want to know what is going with neighbors and keep an eye on everything. He hasn't been verbal yet with anything. The tall wags non stop and is in general a very happy, curious happy pup. Stay tuned for more information as Hank is a new rescue! If you are interested in adopting Hank please fill out an Application at  www.Passion-4-Paws.org  (please make sure you have the Vermont site not CT) - thanks! Please note Fosters have 1st option of Adoption. Check out his Facebook page (please "Like" us while you are there)!
