Meet Maverick

Maverick is a 1.5-year-old male Pug and Chihuahua mix. He is full of energy and loves to run around the yard at top speed. He gets along well with other dogs, he occasionally does some food guarding. He thinks cats are his friends and tries to play with them.He is a young dog, and therefore he chews a lot. He will need chew toys, and things that he should not chew on should be kept out of his way.Maverick is not potty trained. He is learning though, and is doing well.He sleeps nicely in his crate at night.Maverick has a big dog personality. He loves to play with the foster family's large breed dog. They chase each other around the yard and wrestle. Maverick would do well with another dog in the family, or with a doggie friend he can get together with. He's a bit too energetic for smaller dogs who are not interested in playing chase.Maverick loves to snuggle with his person and needs lots of exercise every day. He'll do best with an active person, or family. He'll need a yard to run around in and/or daily walks. He'd be a really good walking and hiking buddy. He handles 3 mile walks with ease and could no doubt go further.Young dogs can be very active and need a lot of teaching, supervision, kindness and patience. Maverick is young and needs this too. He's smart and listen's well.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200.
