They helped me with daycare dropoff/pickup and were fantastic in the vehicle, so much so that Caen made herself comfortable once the kids were out! They're both so much fun and easy to have around, someone needs to take a chance on these two - you will NOT be sorry! 5/17/2022 Temporary Care Feedback: We were SO lucky to have Caen & Rouen in our home this past Thursday through Monday as their foster was out of town (busy saving other pups in need!). They are both sweet, want to give you all kinds of love, and are overall well-behaved. At first, it might seem like it’d be too much to have two dogs, we even thought that about dog-sitting, but my goodness these two stole our hearts!!  KIDS - We have two children (a 4-year-old daughter and a 1.5-year-old son) and it was hard to not keep this pair for ourselves! We monitor interactions very closely to help our kiddos treat all dogs well and understand how to best interact with them, particularly because we have a lot of dogs coming through our house. Rouen was especially good with our 1.5-year-old, almost seemed to be drawn to him, and was not bothered by our son's loud screams or cries nor his ongoing learning to pet the backs of dogs instead of their face. I truly think they both love kids; Caen would cry with excitement when she saw our 4-year-old for the first time of the day! They did not jump up on the kids or constantly bump into them, but they are the perfect height for a wet kiss once in a while! They are not dogs who lick a lot.  SLEEP - They slept either on the bed with us, on the floor in our room, or one evening when it was warmer upstairs they slept on the main floor (not sure if on the floor or couch). They went out to potty before we went to sleep and had no issue waiting until the next morning to go out again. During the day they were able to take little naps even while the kids were playing.  KENNEL - These two are kennel trained but we let them free roam at our house while we were gone without any issues, including the many kid toys around. The only thing I noted and made sure was put away were toy balls, as Caen loves playing fetch and our son has several. ACTIVITY - We have a good-sized backyard that is fenced in and this dynamic duo thoroughly enjoyed playing fetch, chasing each other around, and either monitoring or 'trying' to get the bunnies and squirrels. We were outside most of the days on the weekend and they spent plenty of energy just being in the backyard. Inside they will play with each other randomly here and there for a few minutes; I would imagine that would be more if they hadn't expended enough energy. We didn't take them on any longer walks since we spent so much time outside, but they could use some work with pulling on the leash. As smart as they are I don't think it would take much! While they might not need a large amount of exercise, they most certainly want (and deserve) your attention. They both love being pet, Rouen will paw you to let you know you're forgetting him. Caen will interrupt if Rouen is getting more attention than she is, so the more of you there is to spread the love the better! TOYS/TREATS - They enjoy chewing on hard bones every day. Caen loves to play fetch, and Rouen joins in on the fun for a bit but not too long! We gave kongs with peanut butter and they both loved them. I think Caen would enjoy stuffed toys but we didn't let her play with any of our kiddo's stuffed animals. Caen & Rouen are wonderful dogs. They are easy-going, cuddly, well-behaved, and aren't so high energy. Major benefits of their age are that they're potty trained, kennel trained, know a few commands, and don't need a ton of exercise. They love to be snuggled up on the couch! 4/30/2022 Foster Feedback: These two beautiful dogs in the prime of their life are up for adoption as a bonded pair, and they are indeed a great duo! Caen is a handsome 6-year-old 68 lb. shepherd mix and Rouen is a gorgeous 5-year-old husky mix weighing only 33 lbs. They are VERY well behaved...potty trained, kennel trained, great with everyone and everything. They have lived with two babies in the past and were very sweet and gentle. Cats are also very welcome around them, they just mind their own business. Caen and Rouen are good with other dogs, but prefer older dogs...puppy energy sometimes is a little much for them.   In the car, these two are a dream! They jump right in and ride nicely. Caen is convinced he should be in the front right next to you! Both dogs like stuffed toys and nylabones and Miss Rouen LOVES to play fetch! These two are just all-around well-adjusted dogs who are obedient and affectionate, love cuddles and pets, and are convinced that people were put on this earth to give them attention and love, which they will return right back to you! Caen and Rouen truly are just wonderful, friendly dogs who are just about perfect...the only thing they have to work on is leashed walking, as their previous owner had them off-leash, so that is a work in progress. But they're VERY good listeners and come running when called so pretty sure it won't take long to learn not to pull. Hopefully, someone will soon be calling them into their new loving forever home! 4/16/2022 Foster Feedback: These 2 are the sweetest fosters I've ever had! They both are very gentle with kids and cats. They are potty trained and kennel trained but would be fine left out in the house together if they are the only dogs. They are both dog-friendly and will need slow, proper introductions. Rouen is a diva and can be sassy at times. She loves her cuddles and likes to be the only dog on your lap. At their previous home, they had their food set out and were able to free-feed throughout the day. I have other dogs in the home, so they now are being fed twice a day. With the other dogs in the house, Caen has been protective of food and treats, so if their new home has other dogs, they will need to be kept separate around food. **  Rouen is Lyme positive.  This is a tick-borne illness, and s/he is currently being treated with Doxycycline.     To learn more about Lyme disease in dogs, read here: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=2+2102&aid=458
