Meet Lily
LILY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Lily and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (12/15) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church, VA (6100A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)! Name: Lily Best Guess for Breed: German shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 5 months as of December SEX: female Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 20lbs Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: Shelter Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. Lily is Looking For: Lily is one of three siblings with Lucky Dog who were pulled from a shelter after being surrendered by backyard breeders. She is looking for all the things puppies love - play time and snuggles and more play time! Making pup and people pals is high on her wish list but right at the top is having her own humans and knowing she's safe and loved for all her days. She will be a great addition to an active household, right there for all the adventures her humans dream up. What do you say? Is Lily the one you see trotting by your side as you take on one of the many great hiking trails in this area? Shelter Notes: Lily will sit without being asked in hopes of getting treats. She came up with this "default sit" on her own and rewarding her easily reinforced it. By comparison, her siblings' instinct was to jump for the treats - natural puppy behavior. Girl is a thinker. 'I sit, I get treat.' Yes! She's also friendly, playful and will follow you anywhere especially if you have treats. Lily is the one who is the most content to be held and will just sit still when we cuddle. (She wants to make sure she still has lap rights when she is grown.) This is a smart little lap puppy! What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting, spay/neuter, and transport from the shelter.
