Meet 46163 Grasshopper

Grasshopper is a 1 year old male Jack Russell that really lives up to his shelter name as he can jump high like a grasshopper! Grasshopper was brought to the shelter as stray, so we do not know of his past. Grasshopper is an active young dog; he needs a home that will engage with him and keep his mind/body busy (not a lay around on the couch type dog). He is true to his terrier breed and will need continued work with obedience training. He is not recommended for a first-time dog owner(s) and would do best in an experienced dog savvy home. Grasshopper can be a bit cautious at first until he knows you and will need to go to a home with children older than 8 years old. Grasshopper can be a reactive with other dogs he does not know, shelter staff have been working with him to build up his confidence. However, this will need to be continued behavioral training worked with him in a new home. Possible adopters will need to bring their dog(s) in to meet Grasshopper to make sure it is a good match.
