Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

  TOCINO HAS AN ADOPTER APPROVED TO GIVE HIM A NEW HOME!!!!   TOCINO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Tocino      Best Guess for Breed:  Miniature schnauzer and Shih Tzu mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of September 2024        SEX: Male   Approximate Weight:  12.5 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested.    Currently Living at:   Texas shelter; will come to the DC area.    Tocino is Looking For:   His forever home! This small scruffy sweetie landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. He's eager to once again have his own humans for sniffy walks and world exploration - and snuggles! He'd also like quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. But you know what he wants most of all? To know he's safe and loved and under hiso wn roof. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and snuggles and loyal companionship. What do you say? Does Tocino have a spot in your lap and your life? What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
