Are you looking for all of the playfulness and trainability of a puppy but dread the idea of winter potty training? Kentucky Milo is the solution to your worries! He is 45 pounds of pure energy and play but at 2 years old he’s fully potty and kennel trained. His number 1 love is continuously pestering his foster sister to play but he’s also happy to entertain himself for hours with a squeak toy (the louder the better). KM is still learning to mind his manners and respect personal space, but he just can’t contain his love of people! He’s got enough energy and affection for an entire family and would benefit from another playful dog in the house to show him the ropes. If you welcome KM into your home you’ll be rewarded with endless licks, laughs and love!
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
